MicroBioreactor Array

At the core of the SimCell System is the MicroBioreactor Array (MBA). The MBA leverages advanced microfluidics, gas-permeable membrane and optical measurement technologies to produce data that is predictive of process performance at manufacturing scale.

Each MBA consists of six miniaturized, independent MicroBioreactor chambers in one multiplexed, single-use array. The culture conditions inside each chamber can be independently defined, monitored and controlled for multiple process variables to meet a wide range of experiment designs. Optimized for mammalian cell culture, MBAs can perform standard batch and fed-batch production modes to execute experiments ranging from simple screening to full factorial experiment design.
